Bio

Daniel is a South Los Angeles native television writer. As a first-gen child of working-class Mexican parents, his path to screenwriting began through poetry and songwriting for local artists. He discovered his fascination with cultural identity, faith, belonging, and the transformations birthed from it.

Daniel’s production path began at Verve, and from there he has supported five writers’ rooms and executives across television development and production, most recently on Season 3 of Hulu’s Tell Me Lies. He’s acquired a firsthand understanding of television from pitch to production, underscoring his intrinsic passion for storytelling.

His writing blends the gothic and supernatural through deeply human, emotional journeys. Inspired by his experiences within diverse spiritual communities, queer spaces, and the cultural intersections of Los Angeles, his work explores the torrid tension between survival and selfhood, chosen families that heal and sear, and the aching search for belonging that culminates in reinvention. Daniel aims to illuminate the cathartic power of reclaiming one’s voice.
